Medical supplies arriving soon to Oaxaca, Mexico

Childhood Cancer

Hospital de la Niñez Oaxaqueña

In December of 2015 – with your support – we funded a 53 foot container of medical equipment and supplies for our partner hospital, the Hospital de la Niñez Oaxaqueña, in collaboration with Project C.U.R.E. The goals are to strengthen the medical infrastructure at HNO, to outfit the new pediatric oncology ward to care for more childhood cancer patients, and to improve outcomes for all children treated at the hospital.

Empty pediatric oncology ward to receive 20 beds and outfitted with equipment

HNO is the only hospital in the state of Oaxaca equipped to treat children with cancer. The container will fully equip a new, empty pediatric oncology ward — doubling the number of childhood cancer beds in the hospital from 20 to 40 — and will enable the hospital to help more children with cancer.

We’re very excited to announce that the container will be delivered in mid-July. The container will be packed by Project C.U.R.E. volunteers in Phoenix and Houston. Thank you to all who donated, Project C.U.R.E.’s volunteers, and all of the hospitals and corporations that donated beds and equipment. We would also like to thank the Posner Center for International Development for funding and support.
